Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 21, 2026

BridgeHome ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of the families and individuals who use our care coordination platform. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and store it, and the rights you have over your data. By using BridgeHome, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

This policy is governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada, including the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and applicable federal privacy legislation.

1. Who We Are

BridgeHome is a family care coordination application designed for the sandwich generation — adults managing the care of aging parents while also raising their own families. We provide tools for task coordination, medical record tracking, shared budget management, and family calendar synchronization across households.

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, you can reach us at: privacy@bridge-home-sync.com

2. What Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly when creating an account and using the platform, as well as limited technical data generated by your use of the service.

Account and Identity Information: When you register, we collect your name and email address. If you are invited by a family member, we receive the email address used to send the invitation.

Health and Medical Information: BridgeHome allows you to enter sensitive health-related data about care recipients, including medication names, dosages, and frequency; medical diagnoses; upcoming and past medical appointments; names and contact details of doctors or specialists; and emergency contact information including relationship and phone number. This information is entered voluntarily by you and members of your Care Circle.

Financial and Budget Data: We collect expense records you create within the app, including expense descriptions, amounts, categories (such as Medical, Groceries, or Transport), and the name of the person who paid. Settlement records between family members are also stored. We do not collect or store credit card numbers, bank account details, or any raw payment credentials directly — payment processing is handled by Stripe (see Section 6).

Calendar and Task Data: We store calendar events you create, including event titles, descriptions, dates, times, and locations. We also store tasks you create or are assigned, including titles, categories, priority levels, due dates, and completion status.

Usage and Technical Data: We may collect basic technical information such as your browser type, device type, IP address, and general interaction patterns within the app. This is used solely for improving performance and diagnosing technical issues. We do not build advertising profiles from this data.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect exclusively to provide and improve the BridgeHome service. Specifically, we use your data to:

  • Create and manage your account and Care Circle
  • Store and display the tasks, medical records, expenses, and calendar events you and your family members enter
  • Send transactional emails such as account verification codes, invitation emails, and password reset links
  • Provide AI-assisted features such as task categorization and care insights, using your circle's data in an anonymized or contextual manner within your session
  • Diagnose technical problems and improve the reliability of the platform

We do not use your data for advertising, behavioral tracking, or any purpose beyond operating the BridgeHome service.

4. We Do Not Sell Your Data

BridgeHome does not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information — including health-related or financial data — to any third party for commercial purposes. Your family's private caregiving information exists solely within your Care Circle and is never monetized or shared with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing platforms.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on servers provided by our platform infrastructure provider. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. We apply industry-standard security practices including access controls, encryption at rest, and regular security reviews.

Health and medical information you enter is particularly sensitive. We treat it accordingly — it is visible only to members of your Care Circle and is never used to train external AI models or shared with healthcare providers, insurers, or government bodies without your explicit consent.

While no system is entirely immune to security risks, we take reasonable and appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

6. Third-Party Services

We use a limited number of trusted third-party services to operate BridgeHome:

Stripe: We use Stripe to process subscription payments for BridgeHome Plus. When you subscribe to a paid plan, your payment information (such as credit card details) is submitted directly to Stripe and governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy. BridgeHome does not receive or store your raw payment card data.

AI Processing: Certain features of BridgeHome (such as natural language task creation and AI care insights) use large language model APIs to process input you provide within the app. These requests may be processed by third-party AI providers. We do not send your full medical history or financial records to these services — only the specific input relevant to the feature you are actively using.

We do not integrate with social media platforms, advertising networks, or analytics companies that track users across websites.

7. Cookies and Local Storage

BridgeHome uses cookies and browser local storage to maintain your authenticated session and remember your preferences (such as dark mode). These are strictly functional — they are required for the app to work correctly and are not used for tracking or advertising purposes.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can clear cookies through your browser settings at any time, though doing so will log you out of your account.

8. Sharing Within Your Care Circle

BridgeHome is designed for shared family use. When you join or create a Care Circle, the tasks, medical records, expenses, and calendar events you add are visible to all members of that circle. You should only add individuals to your Care Circle whom you trust to access this information.

Circle admins can invite and manage members. If you are removed from a circle, you will no longer have access to that circle's data, though records you contributed may remain visible to remaining members.

9. Your Rights

As a user of BridgeHome, you have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

  • Access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: You may update or correct your name and email through your account settings.
  • Deletion: You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page. Deleting your account will permanently remove your personal profile. Note that data you contributed to a shared Care Circle (such as tasks or expenses) may persist for other circle members unless the full circle is also deleted.
  • Portability: You may request an export of your personal data in a machine-readable format by contacting us.
  • Withdrawal of Consent: You may stop using BridgeHome and delete your account at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@bridge-home-sync.com. We will respond within 30 days.

10. Children's Privacy

BridgeHome is intended for use by adults (18 years of age or older). We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our service evolves. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by displaying a notice within the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of BridgeHome after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
